Month: April 2015

TCWT April: Oh Romeo…

Okay, so once a week ever since April started I’ve had a mini panic attack that i’d missed my post. Then i’d remember, oh wait, I’m later this month… 24th… righhhttt…. And move on with my life.

Of course, as soon as the 23rd rolled around, when i should have been writing, and did start, on my post things got very very very crazy. My prom was the 24th, I had a full day of college visit, rowing practice, and a museum visit the 25th. I had an all day boat race Sunday from 5 am when I left the house until 8 pm when i returned.

So, yeah, this is 4 days late.

The plot for this month is… *drum roll*

“Write a letter to a fictional couple.”

Dear Katara and Zuko,

Why? Just… why? After all you guys had been through in the series, you truly should have ended happily together. Katara, I’m sorry to say this, but Aang is not for you darling. He’s a child more like a cousin to you, I can tell. And Zuko, what are you thinking? Mai is… Mai. She doesn’t deserve you.

I know you both started out bitterly hating each other. Katara, you blamed him for your mother’s death. Zuko, you used her as bait to capture the Avatar. But then under Ba Sing Se… you both felt that connection. You’d both lost your mothers because of that war, you both carried scars you’d rather leave behind.

You to are perfect in that you balance each other out.

You bring out the best in each other.

If only this ship had actually happened…

Your most shipping fan,

Originally I was going to do more, but one will have to do.

Besides, I can always post others if I feel like it. 😉

Don’t forget to check out who else is doing the chain!

6th – Saxon!

10th – Lannis!

13th – Starlight!

24th – You are Here! 4 days late…

29th and

The Blog Post That Isn’t

The Monday Heretic

Have you—yes, you, the person reading this—ever posted something on Facebook just to make others think of you in a certain way? Taken a picture of you looking good or doing something awesome just to impress someone? Said something borderline mean just to be funny, modified your real opinion just to fit in, refused to admit you were wrong just to show that person, that one particular person who is so self-important, that you are just as good as they are?

Or, maybe a better question: has there been a day when you haven’t done one of these things?

It’s been a while for me, even here on this blog. I’d like to say that I always write on it for the right reasons, but most of the time (all of the time?) our motivations are mixed. On my good days, I write on this blog because I want to…

This Post Is too Epic For a Title

Oh… my… YAYAYAYAYAYA!!!!!!!!

First things first, sorry for the break in posts, been super busy.

Okay, so as some of you may remember I was gripping about my Senior Prom theme a couple months ago. Well, still not thrilled with the Hawaiian, but I found some breathtaking ocean blue fabric and peacock feather designed overlay with which to make my dress.

That’s Yay #1

Yay #2 is even bigger and better.

So, as some of you may remember my mentioning, I moved across country last August right before senior year. Stinks., right? Well, thanks to a variety of circumstances, the awesomest thing is going to happen.

I get to go back to my old home town for graduation!!!!

And I don’t mean as a graduation gift, I mean I will literally be graduating at my former homeschool group’s graduation ceremony, with all my best friends!!!!!!

I am so excited, and can’t wait!

Also, I will try to post more often.

Christ is Risen!

Jesus Christ Risen Today! Sinners wipe your tears away!

Jesus’ death upon the cross  Saveth us from endless loss.

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.

See the Holy Women Come, Bearing spices to the tomb;

Hear the white-clad angel’s voice Bid the universe  rejoice.

Alleluia, Allleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia

Go tell all his brethren dear “He is risen, nor is here!

Seek him not among the dead; He is risen as He said!”

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia

Glory, Jesus, be to three! Thine own might hath set Thee free!

Come! for primal joy restored, Let us bless our Paschal Lord!

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.

Good Friday

“So they took Jesus, and carrying the cross himself he went out to what is called the Place of the Skull, in Hebrew, Golgotha. There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, with Jesus in the middle. Pilate also had an inscription written and put on the cross. It read, “Jesus the Nazorean, the King of the Jews.” Now many of the Jews read this inscription, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek. So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write ‘The King of the Jews.’ ” Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his clothes and divided them into four shares, a share for each soldier, They also took his tunic, but the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from the top down. So they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it will be,” in order that the passage of scripture might be fulfilled [that says];

“They divided my garments among them, and for my vesture they cast lots.”

This is what the soldiers did. Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother, and mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.

After this, aware that everything was now finished, in order that the scripture might be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I thirst.” There was a vessel filled with common wine. So they put a sponge soaked in wine on a sprig of hyssop and put it up to his mouth. When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, “It is finished.” And bowing his head, he handed over the spirit. “
